This medley and arrangement was commissioned by Dr. Howard, director of choirs at the University of Oklahoma, for the OU Men's Glee Club's performance at the 2025 IMC Tenor-Bass Choral Consortium. Combining elements from "Stout-Hearted Men" (The New Moon), "Drinking Song" (The Vagabond King), and "Song of the Vagabonds" (The Vagabond King), this rousing song follows a soloist trying to persuade some "lousy rabble" to join his cause. After repeated appeals, he eventually succeeds, and the whole ensemble marches to the fight together!
Symphonic Band | ca. 1.5 minutes
Modeled after the United States national anthem, this piece was written as the national anthem for a fictional Antarctican nation. The work demonstrates the grandeur of the Cold Continent, particularly if it were to rise to global superpower status.
